I have built, from the ground up or just stripped and rebuilt, many cars over the years, but, they have all been race cars, stock cars, autocross or rally cars. A few of these turned out to be championship winning cars too!
I have also built and raced a Formula 1300 Mallock in 1972 and a single seater Formula Four in 1981, the engine on this was a quick one but I didn’t get the car sorted before running out of money.
So not much success due to lack of funds but, I did two very enjoyable seasons of Club Racing with the 750 Motor Club.

I have always said I wanted to build a Kit Car but never got around to it, well now I have and together, my oldest car mad son and I, are going to do just that.
We got the SR2 Kit home and will slowly strip the Mazda Mx5 Eunos donor to build the Sr2 kit.

UPDATE:
In mid 2019 due to very slow progress on the Sr2 I decided to sell the Sr2 kit as an unfinished project and purchase a Mk2.5 MX5 Sport as per the blog posts now on this site.
Progress on putting the Mx5 Sport back on the road is a little slow so
I have decided to add posts of classic and interesting cars that come into my work for Super Unleaded and 4 Star Fuel which we mix on delivery these days.

Hood repair for split rear window

The hood split in multiple places back in the cold weather. I have finally gotten around to remove the hood to repair the rear PVC window. I have obtained a sheet of Vyback clear PVC window from Woolies Trim in Peterborough and I will be cutting that to size to glue onto the existing glued/welded rear window seem. I will be using StormSure glue which is a repair glue for all sorts of flexible material including Car Hoods, tents etc.. When the hood goes back on after a successful repair, hopefully! it will be fitted correctly in between the two sides of the rain channel as it came off having been originally fitted on top of that rain channel. This is a temporary repair as I will obtain a heated glass rear window hood sometime in the future.

Exhaust Heat Shield Painted
